Free PMP Practice Questions (with Answers and Explanations)

Eight situational practice questions in the style of the current PMP® exam. Pick an answer to reveal the correct option and a full justification explaining why the other choices fail. Nothing to download, no sign-up.

The exam is built on the PMP Examination Content Outline: People (42%), Process (50%) and Business Environment (8%) by task weighting, with roughly half the questions set in agile or hybrid environments. The samples below deliberately mix predictive and agile contexts for that reason.

How to use these questions

  • Answer before you read the justification — guessing then reading teaches you far less.
  • For every question you get wrong, write down why the right answer is right. The exam tests judgement, not recall, so the reasoning pattern is the thing worth memorising.
  • Watch for the phrasing: “what should the project manager do first” almost always rewards gathering information or following the change process over acting unilaterally.
  • Never pick the option where the project manager decides alone, hides information, or skips governance.
